Studying jiujitsu

I always loved martial  arts , since i was 8, i did  goju-ryu (hard style/soft style)
for a couple of years, the training was intense, we would do god knows how many sit ups,leg raises, and push ups, the training was fun, when you block out the pain.
well anyways, the school moved before i could complete my training, and i was left with a purple belt, and a  thirst for improving my physical  abilities (sounds corny)
8 years later im in a whole different state (okay its only a 20 minute drive)
and ive found a gym with alot of people with a similar passion. Ive forgotten almost everything about goju ryu, so i  really wanted to try something new, something different. What caught my eye was BJJ(No you perverts) or  brazilian jiujitsu,i wont get too specific(cmon use wikipedia) but basically its a grappling art, much like wrestling, which employs the use of arm bars, leg locks, and chokes(anything thats illegal in wrestling ) by using the least possible force(jiujitsu means gentle art)
It was originally less gentle, but this brazilian guy, carlos gracie, i think, was too skinny and weak, so he developed a style that uses leverage and technique instead of raw power , the gracies and other BJJ practiocioners are legendary for beating men who are much  bigger and much stronger than themselves.
and although i have the strength to employ other methods, i find that very interesting.
Current exp: 2 months

im sticking with this all the way, grapplers quest here i come!!!
(I actually wroth this on August 05,2008, shortly after enrolling in jiujitsu.
Here i am a good few months later, soon to be competing in Grappler's Quest March 2009 ; ) Wish me luck, il do the rest!!!
